I was wondering if anybody has ever done this or if its even a good idea. I have a True Brew german style kit that I got for my birthday and I also have a pound of D-180 candi syrup and was wondering if it would be a good idea to add it to the kit.

As a total guess, I would advise against using it. While it would still make beer, it might end up pretty thin and German beer typically have very solid body. Candi syrup will dry the beer out. Also Candi syrup is not a traditional German ingredient.

Also, you could do it and really enjoy it. It will make the beer "lighter" if that is something you are looking for.
