Hey guys I made a huge mistake Brewed 10 gallons of beer then put the wort in a Carboy with 4 gallons in it and put one bucket with 4 gallons in it and fermented it. It's done fermenting. It's gonna be high alcohol has a lot of sugar. Can I add water to it after fermentation to make 5 gallons before kegging? Will this mess up the beer or taste? I made a caramel Amber ale.

So instead of 10, you have 8 gallons? I'd probably leave it as is. I'd be afraid of introducing oxygen into the beer if you try to top both fermenters to 5 gallons each. What was your intended FG and actual FG readings?

Got 1.048 og the fg should be 1.013 that was from the recipe but with less water I was not sure what may happen
