I want to experiment with a few varieties of hops that I have sitting in the fridge so I planned on splitting a 5 gallon APA batch into 1 gallon carboys and dry hopping with 1oz. from each strain.

Wondering if anyone has experience doing this and/or if you have any suggestions on what hops to use in the boil so that I'll have some bittering but will let the dry hop be the focal point.

I'll be fermenting with WLP001 and my grain bill will be something like:
9lb. pale 2 row
1lb. munich
.5lb. crystal 20
.5lb. crystal 60
.5lb. carapils

Magnum is about the cleanest bittering you'll find.

I'd personally just use something like 7C hop blend at 15 minutes. It's a nice background "american hop" profile that would compliment a wide range of dry hops.
