I am going to reuse some yeast for the first time this weekend. I used Mr Malty and it says for a 1.049 OG I would need 886ml of wash slurry, just under a liter, this seems accurate/fine. My question is for this same OG it says I would need 2.1 packs of dry yeast or 6 vials of liquid yeast with a start and 17.2 without a starter... how could this be accurate? Am I using the calculator wrong somehow?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

You sure you didn't put in 1.49 instead of 1.049?

6 vials in a starter and a liter of slurry is just as ridiculous as 17 packs.
