Hey everyone,
I 'm going to brew what will be my 12th batch doing BIAB and was wondering about temp drop. I do 90 min mashs and I lose about 4deg. I take it that this is accpetable as all my beers have been great.
Just wondering what others are getting for temp drops and what is a acceptable range.

Not sure about BIAB, but if you use a preheated cooler I'd say a 1-2 degree drop over 90 minutes would be typical. For a pot I'd say 4 deg sounds pretty good!

If you have your grains very finely crushed or ground your conversion is done in less than 30 minutes. Don't worry much about 4 degrees in 90.
