I am planning on doing my first 10 gallon batch this weekend, I'm interested to see if anyone has any great recipes in which I split the 10 gallons into 2 5 gallon carboys and use different yeasts, hops, etc in each carboy. Im thinking about doing an American style IPA. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thank you.

i do a lot of split batches of american ipa/belgian ipa or APA/Belgian pale.

Would that be as easy as just using the two different yeasts? Could I just follow an Am ipa recipe and use a belgian yeast on half? If so, that's all I need to know! Thanks.

As mentioned, this is a great way to get a handle on what specific yeast strain does for a beer. To compare a yeast flavor, I tend to use US-05 in one and the yeast I am testing in the other. US-05 has basically no yeast "character" so it is a nice control.
