    All of the brew sculptures I have seen have the drain ports on the side. Any reason why people don't put their drains on the portion of the pots? Seems like a better spot. Has anyone tried to dimple the thicker bottom?

    Ok, newbie rancher question. I have a bank of 5 or so strains that live on agar plates. When I want to brew, I grab a happy looking colony and grow it up. I have never made or used slants. So the question is: what is the difference in using slants vs plates in a yeast bank?
