Please post pics of the conical when you finally get it! Perhaps how they ship it too. I'm really wanting to get one myself. I'm jealous.

    RIMS issues

Jaybirds 15" false bottom works like a champ in my keggle mash tun/RIMS system.

    False Bottom Stuck Sparge Woes

+1 to what Bobby said. I used to have same problem as you, so I cut with my angle grinder a "notch" into the bottom of my copper pickup so that if it gets pushed down it can still flow. Haven't had a problem since. I have keggle mash tun w\ jaybird false bottom and re-circ via pump and RIMS.

    Cheap ss weldless bulkhead idea.

How far on the nipple do those locknuts thread? Up to about the middle? Could you post a pic of just the nut threaded on the nipple as far as it'll go? Curious as i've bought a few that only thread a tiny bit & dont want to order these with the same results. Thanks

    star san question

It's fine to use on stainless. Although I wouldn't store it in stainless for long periods of time. I've listened to a few podcasts\interviews with charlie daniels (worked @ 5 star & created star-san) who advised against extended contact time with stainless.

    Hop spider

I origionally made one with pvc, but after bout 6 brews the heat warped it badly and it fell into the keggle. I then went to local godwill, found a stainless flip top container, and cut bottom off, and used that. Now I'm thinking bout to replace the zinc lag bolts with stainless bolts if I can...

    Bell's Brewery Homebrewing Store

Bell's is my local homebrew store (and brewery). They are all very nice and special order stuff for me all the time. I recomend ordering from them. Great store to deal with.

    When cleaning botlles...

REALLY hot water soak with some oxyclean. I, too don't bother too much with stubborn lables & or bottles that don't clean easily after soak. Straight to bottle return. I agree Short's Brewing lables are the worst! Don't bother

    Foggy Carboys

+1 to using white vinegar. A healthy mix with HOT water and let it soak for awhile works for me, too.

3 gallon batch in 5+ gallon fermentors

I, too, recently wanted to do smaller batches. My last two have been 3.5 gallons into the 6.5 carboy. I figured to primary in it shouldn't be a problem, due to any oxygen in the headspace will be replaced by Co2 from fermentation. So far all turned out great. =)

    Recirculating
