Top Tier brew is coming along

About a month ago I picked up a Blichmann Top Tier 20 gal. 3 burner stand. Ive made some changes to it since. First I replaced all the ball valves with SS butterfly valves for easier cleaning. I then Installed a Herms coil in the HLT to recirculate the mash + step mash. I also add a ball valve...

What are you using to plug the hole in the lid where the recirculation tube goes during the boil in order to maintain the vacuum for the steam slayer?

    drill for steam slayer

The carbide drill bit from Brewhardware for drilling the hole for the steam slayer is a 40mm. That's smaller than 1 5/8". 41mm would be more like it. Will that drill run out enough for that bulkhead to fit?

What is the advantage of a 1.5" butterfly valve with a 3/4" hole over a ball valve with the same size hole? ( other than the coolness factor)

Adding a flow meter. How would you do this?

I'm working on setting up my Top Tier 20 gallon system. Since this came with a tower of power controller for the HLT I've decided to add a Herms coil to recirculate the mash. So I'm coming out of the mash tun to the riptide pump, out of the pump to the herms coil, Out of the herms coil and let...

    Older Morebeer kettle?

Morebeer use to sell kettles under their name a few years back. Who made those kettles for them? I have a 15 gallon one and in comparing it to the new to me blichmann kettles it is more heavy duty and a lot heavier in weight than the Blichmann.

    new sparge arm

For many years I've used a stainless rotating sparge arm and it has worked great for fly sparging. But as always trying new ways I decided to find the best way with a fixed sparge arm ( non-rotating). I found this to try and will make it height adjustable.
