I would like to brew a Hefeweizen but due to equipment constraints I can’t do a step mash.
Has anyone successfully brewed a Hefeweizen using a single infusion mash, say at 66C ?
Is there a tool for nipping up the collar on a shank – something like a ‘C Spanner’ ?
Also, are these standard sizes or does every manufacturer produce different size collars ?
I am new to the RIMS Tube and when looking at YouTube videos with them in use some use in the vertical position and a few horizontally.
Can I ask which you use – and is one way better than the other?
Am stuck, just noticed receipe calls for 1.2 pks of Verdant IPA and only have 1 pkt in stock - question, what would happen if I added a little US05 to the Verdant pkk ?

If you are using CO2 to push out the Start San in a Corny through the beer out (long dip tube) how can you be sure all the Star San is out of the keg and none left behind ?
Thinking of adding 200gm of (Quaker) rolled oats to a 5 gal batch of Mild as an experiment so may I ask :
1 Should they go through the mill with the other grains or be added whole ?
2 Added at the start of the mash ?
I only brew Ales – Bitter, Mild, Porters and the like i.e. not Lagers, NEIPAs etc
Can I ask the idea temperatures for the following please :
A Cold Crashing
B Keg carbonation
C Serving temperature
Getting mixed up on my Gravities :-
Is the Original Gravity the same as Post Mash Gravity i.e. before the boil ?
If so when is the Pre-Boil Gravity taken?
The reason I ask is Brewfather has 2 different reading for OG and Pre-Boil

I am looking for a swingle measure hydrometer to make reading of it easier (my eyesight is not 100%)
i.e. is there a hydrometer that just measures the SG of beer and not wines etc – a single scale hydrometer in other words?
