    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just an extract batch of lite beer, but picked up a case of vintage labelled bottles: Fall City beer, local brewery that folded in 1978. My dad's favorite.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

This weekend I hope to make a Blueberry-Honey Ale kit that I bought a couple of weeks ago. Gonna split it in half and do half as the standard ale and convert the other half to a gose (the style which my daughter and son-in-law are recently fond of), different yeast then a pinch of salt and...

You know you're a home brewer when?

Recently bought a new home and one of my requirements with SWMBOs endorsement was enough basement space for homebrew and wine making adventures. Long term, I plan a basement kitchenette to handle everything down there.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Last weekend: Red Rye Pale Ale - partial extract 1 lb Caropils Amber LME Rye LME bag of light DME, Centennial first then Citra just before flameout. Smells great bubbling. The rye goes great with fish BTW.

    Show Us Your Label

For my daughter's wedding: The wine labels match the invitations and the beer labels are a grayscale image of the venue.

    Favorite Extract Kit

Brewers Best Red Ale kit, LHBS suggested adding rye and Citra hops. Delicious; and I don't consider myself a hophead. Oldest son liked the cream ale better.

Island Mist - When and How Much Additional Sugar

2 lbs table sugar in primary. Dissolve it in the bentonite slurry. easy peasy. Made the peach apricot chardonnay and the raspberry sangria for daughter's wedding this way and everyone smiled.

    How Do You Aerate?

Need to be very careful if using O2. I top up with spring water that has been ozonated to disinfect (88 cents per gallon at Walmart) and splash when transferring to the primary.

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

It's OK, vaulted ceiling and we just recently turned off the A/C here in Kentucky.

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Picked up my Mr.Beer at Tuesday morning for just $20. I can split a 5 gal ingredient kit into two batches with my Mr.Beer. And use different yeasts or add sugar or extra hops on the second batch. So even though I'm just a jr hobby brewer, I'm liking it so far. And SWMBO doesn't fuss about the...

Has anyone tried Cru Select Torrontes (RQ) kit?

Torrontés Riojano is the most aromatic of the three, with aromas reminiscent of Muscat and Gewürtztraminer wines. From Wikipedia just started a 2012 LE kit from LHBS, too good a deal to pass up not planning to oak mine at all

    Winexpert Moscato Kit

Made the RJSpagnols version back in early Feb. Not great yet. Smelled wonderful in the primary. Hoping it's better by June. I wish I'd have cooled the primary down from 73F.
