    When To Add Hops?

    I want to add a couple of ounces of Chinook hops at flameout. If it takes me 30 minutes to cool my wort with an immersion chiller, am I really adding this final addition of hops at flameout? Should I add them just when it is ready to drain into my carboy?

    I would like to run star san through my shirron plate chiller the day before brewday. Is this okay? Can I throw it in a bucket of star san overnight after sanitizing, or would just putting tin foil on the ins and outs be enough? Conehead

    I read that you should rehydrate dry yeast. Fine, I get that. The manufacturer says to use 100F water for the hydration period. Great. It then says to drop the temp of the rehydrated yeast to within pitching temp. That means I have to drop the temperature 50 degrees to 50F? Talk about...
