    cold crashing & bottling?

    some of my batches i have been cold crashing & some i haven't.... but it seems that a few brews came out flat that i cold crashed & then bottled. i am pretty sure i had the priming sugar in solution right. my question is: does cold crashing take too many yeasts out of the beer before...

    IBU/SG ratio for a stout?

    hey guys, i am making a 3 gallon batch of imperial oatmeal stout, i am looking at an est. 11% ABV.... right now all i have is a one time bittering of hops at the beginning of the 90 minute boil with 1 oz of chinook... this puts me at 46 IBU's and a IBU/SG ratio or .444.... as i understand it...

    reusing yeast cake but changing recipes

    hey guys! i was planning on reusing my yeast at the bottom (WP001) of the carboy from my first batch of a hoppy red ale (5 gallon batch)...... i was told that i could go darker with the next batch but not to go lighter. i was thinking about making a honey blond ale. does anyone see any...

    Another San Diego brewer

    hey guys! been checking out the boards for a few weeks now & am new to brewing (brewing my third batch on wednesday). i can tell its a great resource & has a great community of brewers. i look forward to getting to know you guys & brewing some great beer.
