    Imperial Stout aging

But won't there be plenty of yeast still for bottling like all my other beers?

    Imperial Stout aging

Why add more yeast? And wine yeast at that? I pitched with 2 packs of yeast. Think I'd still need more?

    Imperial Stout aging

Hello. I just made a Coffee Donut Imperial Stout with an OG of 1.093. I'd like to hear some thoughts on how long I should age this guy. Typically I do 1 wk primary, 2 wk secondary. Or longer.

    Making clearer beer

Adding Super Kleer when racking to secondary works pretty well for me...and the whirlflock tablets 15 minutes in boil.

    Freeze trub

A thought. I've had issues disturbing my trub when racking and bottling. Could I just sit the primary or secondary on some ice cold water (about a couple inches high) overnight to freeze or slightly freeze the trub to make it harder to disturb it? Making it more solid.

    Too much carbination???

Yea I knew I was lucky. Got a lot of head too after one week. Don't understand it. I know now to siphon first before adding priming sugar. Just want to thank everyone for their help and feedback. The home brewing community is pretty awesome. Everyone is willing to help each other out. I love it!

    Too much carbination???

I decided to check about after one week. Fully carbonated. Three it all in the fridge to slow down carbonation. It's been 2 weeks since bottling and it it's still good. Only have about 3 bottles left. :)

    Hello Hello

Brooklyn brew shop has nice 1 gallon kits (AG). And fun beers. Any questions, email them and they'll help you out. After three 1 gallon batches I had to move up to a 5 gallon kit though (which they don't offer). After a few you wont need ingredient kits. I'd skip the extract. Kinda like making...

    Too much carbination???

I'm still hoping its not. I used an ingredient kit that said use 1 cup. I'm hoping the worst case is a lot of head.

    Too much carbination???

I've used honey before. Two weeks was plenty. Thank you!

    Too much carbination???

I just bottled my IPA with a cup of honey diluted with one cup water. That went into the bottling bucket first but I lost 1/2 gallon because my auto siphon stirred the trub with the last half gallon so I stopped. My question is will the half gallon loss be enough that will make my beer too...

    75 F. too high?

Just brewed a fat tire clone sat night. It's been about 48 hours and the temp went up to 75F. I couldn't get it down. My window is open and it's getting colder so I should be able to get it back down to 68-70 sometime tonight. Is this gonna give my beer a bad taste?!
