What did you find under your tree?

I found a two tier Carboy stand made of repurposed pallet wood. I think she's telling me to get my stuff in order. Gotta love a girl that knows her way around a wood shop!

Used freezer/refrigerator vs. new energy efficient freezer

I went the used route, modified it all and got two awesome blissful days and then it sputtered and died. I am now looking for a deal on a new.

    Has anyone tried this?

Didn't care for pale ale, and was the first I tried so didn't go any further than that. I'll have to give the red a chance.

1st Gluten Free -Cloudy and tastes like Grapefruit

I agree sorghum just has the twang, I say lean into it, although I admit I haven't brewed with rice syrup, was never impressed with new grist which seems to rely on it heavily.

    Nottingam and cider

How long has it been in the bottles? I have had batches that did nothing for 8 months and then all of a sudden were carbed perfectly by 9, and the wait helped the flavor immensely too.

Did you take readings for OG and FG? Have you found a source for (sorry if terminology is off) potential numbers for any of the GF grains?Trying to use brew assistant for recipe planning but without potential can't get a predicted OG. Thanks for the detail on mash schedule.

    Ton of trub

I have some millet from Colorado malting co, some home malted buckwheat, and home malted sorghum, and sometimes GF Oates. My last batch was about 1lb of sorghum, millet, and oats, as well as 3 lbs of extract ( my mashes havent been efficient enough to go all grain) Didn't use MLT cause I would...

    Ton of trub

Cool ill have to give that a try. Do you use rice hulls in your mash when just using FB and not bag? I have been able to mash a few times without getting stuck I go quite slow but flows.

    Ton of trub

Yeah I have had a little better luck with proper MLT even so still very chunky. What do you use for a grain mill, I am in the market but need to be sure it can adjust down small enough for sorghum.

    Ton of trub

I am a GF brewer and malt many of my grains. I have done quite a few partial mash batches now and I constantly get tons of trub in my wort. Is this because of my home modification. I have been able to produce clear AG wort using barley but my GF are full of junk. Any thoughts?
