First thing I did in my LBK is fill it up with water measurements by the half gallon and mark them off with sharpie.

Honestly I would say to wait the recommended 2-3 days until you switch to the airlock. I did mine a few hours before 72 hours and so far so good. Just my opinion though.

I was always told to sanitize the hydrometer and the test tube, but I still would rather not risk it. I feel the same way though.

I did BIAB with 1.5 gallons this weekend and came up a bit short and had to top off in the jug with water. I am going to start off with a bit more next time.

Going to get started with homebrewing again this weekend. Starting with a 1-gallon kit Bruxelles Blonde from Brooklyn Brew Shop to get my feet wet again. Never brewed a Belgian ale before so this should be fun. BIAB method as my pots & space in the apartment are limited.

Those are two really interesting options for small-batch brewing. Going to do my first 1-gallon batch this weekend - are the glass carboys that much of a pain or are these plastic containers / buckets just that much easier.

Here she is in all her glory and its amazing. Honestly its exactly what I hoped it would be -- a nice pale ale with a finish of citrus / grapefruit from the Cascade hops. I am really excited to tap the 3L bottle in a few days and have this beer "on tap" with the tap-a-draft head. Thanks again...

If that's your plan than you did a pretty good job with the hop additions. I would leave them as is or maybe move them around a bit depending what quality you want from it. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. :tank:

I used sugar levels for 2.3 volumes.

Sorry missed this but yeah my LHBS store sells hops in these 1oz bottles.
