    Screwed the pooch

I'm always afraid that this will happen to me, I am constantly tightening the connections on my chiller. If I were you I would probably bring it back to a boil to kill anything that might have gotten in there and also to hopefully boil away a little more of the extra water.

    Fermentation Time

If you can't get to it for another 5 months or so, I MIGHT start worrying a little about it. After years of brewing and hundreds of batches brewed, I almost always leave my beer in their primary for at least 5 or 6 weeks now.

    First Outdoor Brew

I never worried about bird poop until a few weeks ago when I was out on my deck drinking a beer, standing in the very spot I usually setup my propane burner for brewing, and a bird pooped directly on my nose. Now I wonder how many times birds have crapped in my boiling kettle and I didn't even...

    Things a Homebrewer Thinks

Here's one from this morning. It made me think about this thread. Me to my wife: "You know, babe, I bet if you use some of my keg lube on your boobs you can get a lot better seal on your breast pump and you wouldn't have to hold it in place."

    Brewing outdoors

I've been brewing for about 6 years and I have never brewed anywhere other than a back porch/deck. Outdoor brewing is the best and I have never really understood why so many people spend so much money to switch to indoor electric brewing.

    It's Christmas!

WOOHOO! I definitely feel the exact same way. Just received a $200 order from Midwest Supplies two weeks ago, bought a new 20lb CO2 tank and got my old 5lb one filled. Have three kegs full, 4 carboys full, and just put in another $250 order from Midwest! It's gonna be a GREAT summer!

    Midwest Supplies

Funny timing for this post. A few weeks ago I bought some pin lock kegs from Midwest, yesterday I tried to open one up to clean it and had a problem getting the gas side disconnected, causing one of pins the come off. I called them today to let them know the problem, they are sending me a...

New beer suggestions for NFL season

Sorry, I already decided the only beer that would do cowboys justice would be an old skunked natty light.

New beer suggestions for NFL season

Well, fellow homebrewers, the best time of year is almost upon us (at least in my opinion). Time to start brewing my favorite beers, dark fall/winter ales, and time for some FOOTBALL. My wife and I just bought our first house a few months ago and we are about to start the first major project...
