    temperature of storage after bottling? high abv? both of these could be the reason if none were carbed.

    some one can correct me if im wrong,but I belive if the juice was pasteurized the pectin is set and it will never get really clear.

    :yes: Yep, used 12oz. Crystal 20 and 8oz. Carapils mashed 1 hour at 152 ish. Need to get a mill and crush my own or buy double crush? I'm sure it will taste good :yes:

    Just brewed up a pale ale with grain that was crushed 6mos ago. It smelled and tasted fine but my o.g. seems low for 10lb of 2 row? 1.048. Is that normal for 5.5 gallon batch?

    I've not been able to find it? Wal-Mart,Kroger, have all kinds of sweeteners but not xylitol.

    Yep, this is correct. It did start fermenting, and is going as I write this. Glad I didn't bottle yet. So lesson learned.

    Update" Well, I topped it off with a little over a cup with the Apple liqueur. No visible fermentation, quite clear and still. Didn't take gravity reading, so I'll bottle with priming sugar next weekend
