I was planning on doing this same thing..My concern however is using the sump pump to run through the cleaning cycle with PBW and Hot Water and then later using the same pump to pump Starsan into the conical to sanitize. Don't we run the risk that some crud or bacteria in the pump housing could...
Did you make this recipe? Anxious to know how it turned out.
Also can you not just use the vodka to sanitize the cocoa and vanilla and then throw the cocoa and vanilla into secondary vs adding the vodka? Soak for maybe a few hours to just sanitze?
Thx
Has anyone seen a good design for being able to change flow patterns easily with valves. I want to use PEX and valves to basicallly change the direction the glycol goes through the coil on the fermenter.
On the fermenter is 2 openings to the coil and depending which end the liquid enters, it...
Well I managed to stabilize the temps +/1 0.5 Deg F.. What it seems is that while to chill to 38F, you want a glycol of 28F (10F colder), when we're dealing with temps around 65 to 70 a 10F is too much. What happens is the glycol cools it down to the set temp and the pump stops but that cold...
Hi folks, I am doing my first brew in my new CF10 with heating/cooling and jacket..
I am currently doing a NEIPA and have the conical set for 69F. The Spike temp control has a preset 5 deg F differential before it kicks in heat/cool..
I occasionally go down to the basement to check on it and...
Ambient temps in basement are around 70 F. I have the complete T100 pkg from spike which includes the jacket and it is on. The chiller is made from a 5000 BTU AC. I have 2 gallons of Glycol and 6 gallons of water in an insulated cooler. It gets down to 28F no problem and I have it for 1 Deg...
Hi folks wondering if you all figured out the problem. I have my glycol at 26F and cannot get my CF10 below 44. Have 8 gallons in the conical doing a test run.. coils are not frozen and pump is running. Any ideas?
Hey folks, I need to pop off my chilling lines on the T100 bundle of of the stainless chiller and reverse them..Must have them backwards. How do they pop off? What's the trick to have the quick 90 disconnect pop off
thx
Indeed! Funny I tried a few times and looked like they only went so far. As for the base, I had the exact same idea. Was going to build a 30x30 base with casters and remove the casters from the legs and then mount the unit on the new base with bolts that thread up through the base into the...
Yes, I knew that they are open when positioned in parallel with the port. Was just curious to orientation. I just assembled it all, my intent with the 90 elbow is really only to put it on when I clean the unit. I plan on CIP ball in the top and open down at the bottom dumping into a bucket...
I just got my new shiny CF10. Excited about it.
I do have some questions.
1. Notice my valve on the transfer port. Most pics I see have them sittingg horizontal with the lever to the right and I assume you pull it forward to open. In my case the only way to get it on so I open by pulling...
I think I found my answer.

In fact if I plug in the element, the LED does not light until the EXBoil turns it on.
Interesting piece of info. I could add a resister to the...
