I wanted to 2nd this. I live in MA and get TH fairly frequently. Green (circa 2017) was the greatest beer i've ever had. So dank! Stinky like an old pair of gym socks, but in a good way! But for the past 2yrs or so it's just 'meh'. Same with all the other core beers. Funny thing is I...
Thanks for all your (and other's) work on this topic. so interesting and fun!
Its a bit of a detective story! While trying to clone their beers I try to remind myself that they were at their best when they were very new and small and financially limited. I think 'simpler' is more likely than...
That's what it seemed like!
So, has anything S-33 or k-97 'like' ever showed up in analysis? any possibility that either of those could resemble T-58 and/or Wb-06?
If the hottest craft brewer on the planet is(or was) using their yeast, you'd think Fermentis would want to tell the world about...
I have tried Windsor with Munich (not Munich Classic) and Abbaye. (80/10/10 i believe, fermented on the warm side). Was a very nice IPA. Not TH nice but very enjoyable. It was not excessively 'wheat yeasty' from the Munich nor Belgiany from the Abbaye but most ppl have had better success...
Don't know if this has already been posted, but TH seems to be updating their descriptions and this is Bright's;
The majority of our pale hoppy offerings get their flavor from a mixture of yeast esters, hop oils, and hop compound biotransformation. In contrast, the Bright series was created to...
I think this description of Alter Ego from the TH site is new (emphasis mine);
"As a live beer made with hand selected fresh hop varieties, we kindly ask that you keep Alter Ego cold at all times and enjoy it fresh for the best experience."
Yes to all of this! However, it appears both TH and Trillium dry hop during fermentation and they make great beers, biotransconfiguration be damned! So I will do this to and see if it improves my beers.
I'm late to this thread but I bought a Pilot about 8 months ago and I've been struggling to find the right gap. I love the build quality (it's beautiful) but the gradations are useless. They must be for things other than barley. What can you crush with a .45" setting, nuts?
Anyways, lightly...
ok, thought so. That pretty much admits that they dry hop their 'core' beers during active fermentation, right? Trillium guy (JC) is also a big proponent of 'biotransformation'. So that settles the issue for me!
is this a new description of Bright?
BRIGHT w/Simcoe & Amarillo (Double IPA 7.8% ABV) - This rendition of Bright was created to be a clean and elegant showcase for a pair of our favorite American hops - Simcoe & Amarillo! It is crafted with a simple malt bill and fermented with clean American...
Um, I named that middle picture "mine with Lights on" but that might not be lights on in the middle. too much sediment in the bottom of the glass. must have been one of mine. I did a Rakau single hop that was...weird. Used Farmhouse's "ne ipa blend" from omega labs. That's probably what that...
