Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I wanted to 2nd this. I live in MA and get TH fairly frequently. Green (circa 2017) was the greatest beer i've ever had. So dank! Stinky like an old pair of gym socks, but in a good way! But for the past 2yrs or so it's just 'meh'. Same with all the other core beers. Funny thing is I...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Thanks for all your (and other's) work on this topic. so interesting and fun! Its a bit of a detective story! While trying to clone their beers I try to remind myself that they were at their best when they were very new and small and financially limited. I think 'simpler' is more likely than...

Bumping this (from July) for context.

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

That's what it seemed like! So, has anything S-33 or k-97 'like' ever showed up in analysis? any possibility that either of those could resemble T-58 and/or Wb-06? If the hottest craft brewer on the planet is(or was) using their yeast, you'd think Fermentis would want to tell the world about...

    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

You posted this back in 2016 and now it seems to be right. How did you know?

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Only 1.15g in 3gal? Did you mean 11.5 or were you intending to underpitch?

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I have tried Windsor with Munich (not Munich Classic) and Abbaye. (80/10/10 i believe, fermented on the warm side). Was a very nice IPA. Not TH nice but very enjoyable. It was not excessively 'wheat yeasty' from the Munich nor Belgiany from the Abbaye but most ppl have had better success...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Don't know if this has already been posted, but TH seems to be updating their descriptions and this is Bright's; The majority of our pale hoppy offerings get their flavor from a mixture of yeast esters, hop oils, and hop compound biotransformation. In contrast, the Bright series was created to...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I think this description of Alter Ego from the TH site is new (emphasis mine); "As a live beer made with hand selected fresh hop varieties, we kindly ask that you keep Alter Ego cold at all times and enjoy it fresh for the best experience."

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Yes to all of this! However, it appears both TH and Trillium dry hop during fermentation and they make great beers, biotransconfiguration be damned! So I will do this to and see if it improves my beers.

Anyone have a Millars Mill Pilot? Problems with crush

I'm late to this thread but I bought a Pilot about 8 months ago and I've been struggling to find the right gap. I love the build quality (it's beautiful) but the gradations are useless. They must be for things other than barley. What can you crush with a .45" setting, nuts? Anyways, lightly...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

ok, thought so. That pretty much admits that they dry hop their 'core' beers during active fermentation, right? Trillium guy (JC) is also a big proponent of 'biotransformation'. So that settles the issue for me!

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

is this a new description of Bright? BRIGHT w/Simcoe & Amarillo (Double IPA 7.8% ABV) - This rendition of Bright was created to be a clean and elegant showcase for a pair of our favorite American hops - Simcoe & Amarillo! It is crafted with a simple malt bill and fermented with clean American...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Um, I named that middle picture "mine with Lights on" but that might not be lights on in the middle. too much sediment in the bottom of the glass. must have been one of mine. I did a Rakau single hop that was...weird. Used Farmhouse's "ne ipa blend" from omega labs. That's probably what that...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I did not detect any clove at all but then again I have a horrible nose for that sort of thing. It certainly didn't say 'belgian' or 'wheat beer' to me though. It was fruity/tropical. Certainly not TH or trillium quality but better than many beers I've paid for! Mash temp - 155 for 60m Mash...

I did a batch with 11.5g+1.5+1.5 and really liked the results. 5 gallons.

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Bought it last week on Wed, 1/10/18. not sure when it was packaged but most likely earlier that week. I'll post pictures of bottom of can, half pour and full pour. we'll see if this can is similar to last or if maybe the last one just was extra yeasty.

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I have a bunch of fresh Bright at home. Had one last night. It poured CRYSTAL clear until... I emptied the can. Whatever had settled caused a permanent (for the rest of the glass at least) haze. Not as murky or thick as Haze/Julius/Green and their variants. IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE, I will...
