If the grains are NOT crushed, then yes you should be good. I have been brewing all my beer this year with grain that was given to me from a friend. It was several years old but kept in airtight containers. These beers have been some of my best ones yet!
I have been having some efficiency issues lately and I'm wondering if my grain crush may be the culprit.
I have been getting my grain crushed at my local homebrew store and I'm not sure if it's crushed enough. It seems to me that a large number of kernels are not crushed. I took a pic of my...
I made a spreedsheet that I use to help plan my parti-gyles that may help.

I'm brewing this in October along with an Old Ale. Comments welcome. My wife and daughter have been begging me to make a Nut Brown ale so one for them and one for me (Though I do enjoy Nut Brown too!)

Wee Heavys are my go to brew. Of course, I don't like my Wee Heavys to be mixed with anything that doesn't fit the character. The only thing I have done is to soak oak wood chips in Whisky and put those in the secondary. No dry hops! Wee Heavy is very low on bittering hops and definitely very...
Adjusted some... but I think I will keep the complexity of malts.
Increased Chocolate a bit, decreased Black Patent and Slightly Increased Special B and Caramel 30 to balance the roast better.
