Is there a current group buy going on? I'm looking to get #100 or so if theres more interest out there.

Found some $19 Electric SS Ball Valves, they seem to work!

Just got mine today. Took apart the control box, the gearing looks all metal. All in all, the construction looks excellent, components are mounted on daughter boards and insulated from one another. Very impressed with the build quality, especially at this price point. I'll probably buy some more :)

    Simplified HERMS + Chilling system

Super cool system. It looks like you are only capable of doing a single sparge, not the kind of sparging that other 2 vessel systems like the Brutus 20 do. Have you tried out that style of sparge before? Is there software than can help design these kinds of systems? I was trying to come up...

    Electric brew mod

Some great points, didn't think about those either!

    Electric brew mod

Good point, it would definitely make cleaning the kettle easier, because you wouldn't have a heating element sticking out in your way, but its not going to make your full-clean any easier. Instead of having 1 set of threads to clean, now you have 1 set of threads + TC fittings to clean :)...

My HERMS with 'bottom drain' MLT

The copper insulation jacket is such incredible bling. What size did you cut it to? How much insulation is there inside? Is it very snug on the kettle, or does it have some "wiggle-room" to it?

    Electric brew mod

I really like that, I actually never understood much of the benefit to having a triclamp fitting for my electric heating element - its not something you need to remove often, and it already has threading on it for disconnecting, so why add another layer of fittings? I really like your approach...

    Automated Flow Rate Control

Is this a picture of your project? Could you link me (or give me more details) as to your build?

I assume the threading is for a standard electric heating element to screw in? If so, thats quite nice - where is the welded fitting from?

    Bourbon without the oak

16oz is a loooooot of bourbon to add to your beer. I'd second the idea of adding it slowly, and to taste. You can always add more bourbon if you arent quite there, its gonna be tough to take bourbon out if you overshoot your mark :cross:

    WB06 does not equal WLP300

Nope, never used either yeast. I've got some WB06 sitting in the fridge, I'll be sure to use your tip and pull it off the yeast early to capture some of that flavor profile.
