    Extract vs All grain....

Extract never tasted right to me. For some reason everything tasted like someone stuffed cardboard in my mouth. I'm positive it wasn't due to oxygen as I did every step by the book. Pretty sure it was my LHBS extract. All grain has been much better. Every beer has been better than the...

    Hot Wort Aeration

I stir it with the wort chiller in to help it cool. Pretty much right after the boil.

    Hot Wort Aeration

Right....I totally agree. In John Palmers book, he states the aerating while hot is not recommended as oxygen will still bind with something in the wort(I cant remember what) which breaks down over time and releases oxygen. I've tasted my beer after a week of fermentation and it usually has...

    Hot Wort Aeration

I know this topic has been talked about a lot, but it seems like every single one of my batches have had that wet cardboard taste. I'm starting to think that it's because I've been stirring my wort while cooling and aerating while the wort is still hot. this doesn't make much sense to me since...

    beer tastes like apples?

That coopers yeast causes the apples flavor. I'd buy something a little cleaner like safeale 05 for coopers kits

    Coopers kits are ****!!!

I think they're alright. If I want to make a quick brew to drink then I use them. I don't like the coopers yeast though. I'll buy some safeale 05 for a coopers kit.

NB Chocolate Milk Stout High Final Gravity

You're accounting for the lactose in your math....which doesn't ferment

NB Chocolate Milk Stout High Final Gravity

People....again. This kit uses a pound of lactose.... Which doesn't ferment. Trust me, I'm a chemist.

so what's the worst part of brewing for you

Yeah but she could stack some clothes in that corner....LOL. My wife says the same ****.

NB Chocolate Milk Stout High Final Gravity

That's not too high because that kit has lactose in it and lactose doesn't ferment out. Mine ended at 1030 and tasted great!!! You're good to go!

so what's the worst part of brewing for you

Having to deal with the 1 or 2 d-bags that work at Northern Brewer. A few of the guys that work there think they know everything there is to know about brewing and thinking that canned kits are a waste. I say if that's what you like to do and all the time you have for brewing, then more power...
