    Emerging microbrewery trend

I just turned 23 last week and the OP gets under my skin a little bit, partially because I have a hunch its directed towards me. I have been drinking beer since my 21st birthday (that's the official story, at any rate), and I've had such a broad exposure to beer compared to the majority of my...

    Does this look right?

Good to know. Should I keep it in the primary still for 7 days, or would I be fine racking to secondary early?

    Does this look right?

Cool thanks guys! Here's a stupid question now: Do I have to worry because I opened the lid after 72 hours? Or am I ok?

    Does this look right?

Hi folks. Not very new at the brewing process, but I guess in some ways I still am because it's been a while since my last brew! I just want to make sure my beer looks right. I'm brewing the white house honey ale, and it doesn't seem like the fermentation has been as active as previous beers...

Using Ice to cool down wort?

I would be too worried about the Tupperware affecting the flavor of the beer. I'm finding the fastest and most efficient way is by just making small concentrations of wort and sticking it in the ice bath. I got mine from boiling to ~90F last night in less than 7 minutes. Though I'm curious -...

    Little help please

For some of us, it comes from our childhood. "Wipe the dirt off and eat it. If it doesn't kill you it's safe to consume."

propane ran out mid boil, best thing that ever happened!!!

I personally love the smell of freshly boiled wort. It brings back memories of a happier time...oh wait! It means a happy time is happening! I live in a small apartment and the whole floor can tell when I'm brewing :D Glad to hear though. I can't imagine having to brew my beer outside. I'm sure...

    Hello

Hi there, Chris, and welcome to HBT! I haven't done any blondes yet (*cough*) but I would recommend checking out the "Recipes" section of the forum. There's a great plethora of stuff there. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/search.php?searchid=18754306

    Drinking my first beer!!

Congrats! That looks delicious! Nice lacing on it, too. I hope the glass doesn't affect the flavor too much :p

    Downtown Seattle tap water?

Cool, thanks for the tip! I live in a vintage apartment building from the 1920's so now I'm going to need to see if the landlord can tell me about the pipe quality...

    Little help please

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that keeping it in the primary instead of racking to secondary will impact it in a negative way, and my assumption is that because of the strawberries just being left in, it will give it a heavy strawberry flavor; but the only way to find out for sure is by...

    Starting a Brewery

Ooh, good point, and thanks for the tip. I'll have a dig through the forums for existing threads. If a mod wants to move this one to an appropriate forum or merge with an existing thread, that's fine too :)

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Henry Weinhard's was absolutely great until it sold its soul to the devil. Blue Dog Mead was utterly tasteless. Coincidentally, they were both from Oregon :D
