Wound up 15 minute boiling 4 cups water and 1 cup DME. STARSAN on the pot lid and cooled it covered until room temperature. Added it to the batch and the blowoff is going nuts! Ought to be good. Thanks for the input.
Missed the OG on a wheat. Since its a low gravity beer to start, I'm wondering what harm will be done if I boil some water and honey and add it to the batch. Only been in primary for 9 hours. Anyone have advice on this one? Much thanks.
Does anyone know if the elbow on my false bottom should have what appears to be a little pinhole on the underside of it for the liquid to flow through or did I get a bad part ?
Anyone have any good advice on techniques to add and stir the grains when mashing in? I know that if the clog gremlins want to deep six a brew day that they shall, but any ideas on reducing the chances of a jam ? Thanks all.
Just make sure your temperature is controlled during fermentation. I lucked out with indoor temps around 68-70 for my winter ale. Cheers and good luck !
Just brewed a winter ale that looks to be promising. Has anyone primed with brown sugar and if so, will it be the 4oz. Just like you'd do with corn sugar?
