Anyone have Pics of float switch used in HLTs? Ideas?

That's the beauty of measuring by weight -- a pound of water is a pound of water at any temperature.

And it would be 3 phase. You can probably get at the wiring terminals on the elements and run only one of them for 1/3 the wattage. You may not even need to do this if you supply single phase. Try to find a wiring diagram for this beast and post it.

More like 16,000 watts and 66 amps if you try to run it on 240v instead of 208v. Its lifespan would certainly suffer as well.

It's simple. Get one of these cheap Harbor Freight well pumps complete with pressure switch and tank. http://www.harborfreight.com/1-hp-shallow-well-pump-with-stainless-steel-housing-920-gph-69302.html I've bought these for less than $80 depending on sales and discount coupons. Just be...

    Italy Beer

I agree completely. I was in the North central city of Modena many years ago on business for a few weeks. At the time it was an industrial city (think Ferrari, Lamborghini, balsamic vinegar, etc) and not really on the tourist route. The food in the company cafeteria was better than...

Mineral Creek Brewery - Start to Finish e-HERMS basement electric brewery build

Wow, nice build. However, if you are wanting this to be up to the National Electrical Code there are a couple points you should realize. 1) The two 20amp breakers in the subpanel with the 60amp GFCI breaker that runs your brewing system are NOT themselves GFCI protected. I think these...

MuddyCreek, If the tankless heater requires more flow volume than the building mains can supply here is a possible solution that should work without much if any new equipment: - Disconnect the tankless heater from the building supply. - Add a solenoid valve to fill the HLT directly from...

    Hot water beer tap?

OK, last time. "What we got here is a failure to communicate" (Cool Hand Luke, 1967). If you really don't understand how these things work you had best just use the device exactly as called for by the manufacturer with exactly the parts supplied. Otherwise you could end up with an unregulated...

    Hot water beer tap?

The only way this is going to work safely for you is to take the guts out of the beer faucet so it cannot hold back pressure and devise some other way of feeding cold water into the tank so it can exit the beer faucet. Good luck.

    Hot water beer tap?

The video does show that the dispenser works exactly as I described. Otherwise you would not need all those extra lines to the valve. The cold water supply valve that feeds the tank is in the unit on the sink deck. The dispenser spout will indeed steam a little if you set the temperature...
