I made some fruit wine and mead last September and it’s been bulk aging in glass carboys. I have racked it several times and vacuum filtered/transferred through my all in one wine pump using a 1 micron. I would like to just bottle it instead of adding a bunch of sulfates anyone do this?
I put the recommended amount in of yeast nutrient like 1/2 tablespoon per gallon.
I was specifically referring to the amount of bubbling I see in the airlock I would think the mead would produce more but it hasn’t been the case.
I just added some more yeast nutrient and it created a lot of...
I've made some wines/lots of beers and now on my third 5 gallon batch of mead. I get lots of honey from cutouts so this is what I do with what I can't possibly eat in a reasonable time frame. I have just recently gotten into making mead so I haven't even tried any of what I have made.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a 9 brew maybe I’ve been a little gun shy will see how it goes I’m doing a ris. Will increasing boil time mess with the recipe
I don’t know if we’re on the same page. I meant I believe I’m not getting enough sugars off grain by just squeezing the bag so I’d like to try to knock all I could off the grains by washing grains with extra hot water and then boil that extra water off later.
I'm doing a couple bigger brews this weekend and doing them biab. I've had trouble in the past getting the sg right im usually pretty short as in my final abv calc is usually 2-3 % low. I was thinking maybe to the full biab and then sparging a few more gallons of hot near boiling water to get...
May not be the best place but since I'm not on any bee forums maybe someone here will know. I removed an older hive from a barn wall on 12/14 this was the second hive I've got and was unlike the first as all the comb was dark needless to say extracting the honey has been a lot harder. I had to...
