Not sure if this is the right place, but seems to be the most frequented.
I need a connection to run my spray handle faucet to my wort chiller. I have pictures of both connections with measurements. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks guys!
I've had 3 bottles of this thus far after 2 weeks conditioning. I think it taste fantastic, does everyone else get a low amount of head? If I get an aggressive pour I get nice head and retention, but anything else is fairly pitiful. It definitely taste carbonated although I'm sure more time in...
I've been trying to do the wet T-shirt around the carboy type thing and just kind of hope. It is somewhat of a nice experiment to see how the slightly higher temps affect it 68-72, and I am much more concerned about it going through really dramatic changes in temperature quickly than I am about...
Don't use soap... Just use StarSan, if you used that in your bottles then you could be seeing the reason you have no carbonation is the detergent screwed things up. Most around here run there bottles through the dishwasher without any soap and water. I personally just run hot water rinse, and...
Just brewed today. Super pumped for this one.
Quick question, but when do you guys add the Limeade.. I see it says in the notes add after vigorous fermentation has subsided so I'm guessing to add the Limeade when the fermentation is still rumbling after 3-5 days? Anyone give me a little more...
Dumb idea only because the white stuff is the yeast! And then all your work would be lost. StPug makes good points. Just make a nice starter with a little of the slurry the next time your brew and you will be golden.
Doing things like that are incredibly difficult to do. Little background, I have a B.S in Biochemistry / Molecular Biology and currently work in a biotechnology company where I do mostly Molecular and Microbiology.
The changes in mutations would be so insignifcant in pre a post fermentation...
Just let it go. To be honest, I might suggest once the yeast start really growing you try and swirl around your fermentation and get the cobwebs into your beer. Why do you ask? Yeast are increadibly resillent and ferocious creatures. They live in environments that most bacteria cannot survive...
Ethanol is more effective and much more volatile than iso-propanol. I'd suggest steering towards that if you can. If you can get your hands on some grain alcohol that'd be a great sanitizer. At work we always use 200 proof ethanol to kill the bugs in the lab. Unfortunately, most of you don't...
