I tracked down a source for Zinc Sulphate Heptrahydrate. homesciencetools.com carries it for $3.75 for 30g.
I mixed a solution of 1g dissolved in 465ml of water which yields a 2150ppm stock solution.
I use 0.5ppm zinc for my yeast. 1ml of the stock solution gives 2.15mg of zinc sulphate per ml of solution. So for a 6 gallon batch (22.71L) needs 12.71 mg of zinc which is 5ml of the stock solution.
For a 2L starter, 0.5ml of the stock solution.
Cheers
