...on this PID controller? I've bought other components from this seller in the past and have never had a problem. I'm looking to use this to control a RIMS tube... whadaya think?

Looks like a great bargain to me.

It doesn't have the "manual mode" that the auber PID does, but you don't need that for controlling a RIMS or HERMS heater.

Heck, I might even pick one up for that price. I don't need it at the moment, but you never know what I'll want to do in 3 weeks. :D
 
oh... one comment. that probe that comes with it might not be suitable to use.

I also bought an inexpensive ebay PID when I built my HERMS, and it came with a probe like that. The threaded bolt part of it was not liquid tight. The center of the bolt was drilled out so that the probe wires could go through the center, but it was a loose fit. Suitable for screwing into the side of an oven or some other dry vessel, but not for screwing into something full of liquid.
 
Looks like it will accept an RTD by the look of the terminals.
The ones I have seen that don't accept RTD's have the third terminal removed.
Although I could be full of...
