Bought a brew kit for my parents a few years back and they never used it so I confiscated if a couple months back. Grabbed a Brewhouse IPA kit and got my hands dirty, and the coffee table in my man cave, and the tiles, then the back basement... Lesson learned, 23L pail not sufficient especially when you get a vigorous fermentation that started in the night, discovered before going to work and a hasty solution only to exponentially improve the learning experience...

Well I may have lost 3L of beer in the process but the final product was well worth it! I have only had then in the bottle a week now but I have already cracked a couple and although they will benefit from another week in terms of carbonation and do not beat out any proper IPAs but they are significantly better than most inexpensive commercial brands and well worth it!

On to a second batch, Coopers wheat kit with Wyeast 3068. Looking forward to this! I will be honest though the most exciting part of this beer making is actually the idea of creating a east culture collection! Might be my science background (bio).
