Got a big starter of wlp820 goin. Was gonna brew a marzen but at last minute I’m changing my mind cuz it’s so damn hot. Now I’m thinking of just making a German light lager. Anyone have experience using this yeast and making fizzy yellow beer with it?

I've used it, but its been a while. Not the "best" yeast for light lager, but unless you are doing a side by side taste test you won't notice.
I've been using the WLP 833 Bock Lager and its been working great for me.
But go ahead and use what you have.

Yup I kinda figured. Won’t win any awards, but I brew beer to drink. I’m sure I’ll be able to quaff down a lager made with octoberfest lager and it’ll be just fine.
