Wire a Love controller like a Johnson?

Building a keezer and read through the Love wiring thread but was still curious if anyone had wired up a Love controller to basically act like a Johnson Temp controller?

What I mean is wire the freezer into a plug that comes off of the Love display and wire the Love controller to the wall via homemade extension cord?
