So I just built a counterflow chiller (soldered version) and am now trying to deal with getting my pump setup designed. I know I want to have a chiller stand that'll I'll mount the pump to and have the chiller hanging on, but I'm unsure about effective design behind these types of systems as far as function goes.
I prepared this sketch-up a few mins ago regarding what my plans are. I think this will work, but I'm am completely open to suggestions.
1. Will this design work? There will be a ball valve + barbs at both ends of the pump.
2. Will I experience priming issues? If so, suggestions?
3. Pump head -- inline or center inlet? I've heard center inlet w/ 3/4" vs 1/2" can improve priming issues.
I've done some research and have come to the conclusion that whether I go with the Chugger or the March 815, I should be good. The real questions is head design.
Any suggestions or advice are welcome.
