How long to calculate Brewhouse Efficiency without pre-boil OG.

Can you get brewhouse efficiency without pre-boil OG?

As long as you have a volume and gravity you can calculate it.

Pre-boil gravity is not used to calculate brew house efficiency. Brew house efficiency simply uses post-boil gravity for the SG and the final volume fermented for the volume.

I only look at brew house efficiency, and never even bother to measure pre-boil gravity.

The only real difference for pre boil to post boil is losses from hops, break and what might be left in the equipment. With only my first running gravity (I batch sparge) I can figure what my gravity into to the fermenter is going to be.

Forgetting boiloff?

Boil off raises the gravity in proportion to the volume loss. It makes no difference in BHE.
