There's an online challenge/"game" called GeoGuesser. Pops up a screen of a Google Street View, and you have to navigate around until you figure out where on earth you are, and drop a pushpin on a map for your guess. You're scored on how close you get to the actual location. Requires good skills with Google (or Bing) search based on clues you can spot along the roadway. Each "challenge" consists of 5 different locations; usually two are pretty easy, one is moderately difficult, and two are pretty hard.

My high score is 32,350. First location was a dead end road on the beach in North Caroline; second was the I-15 interchange in Bloomington, Utah; third was just outside a small village in Spain, fourth was an indeterminate strip of tree-lined road on Hwy 1 through Key Largo, and the last one was a little town along Hwy 155 in northern Quebec.

Good way to practice your google-fu, and "see the world" :)

32013 pts. Started in Some po-dunk town in Alberta, CA then onto a metro area on the Brazil-Paraguay border, a small farm in Poland, Main St. in some small town in MN and finally a seasonal road in southern Wyoming. Nailed them all, except the farm in Poland - got within 5km of that one.
