Subject says it all.
Does the hop aroma in a beer bottle last longer if the bottle is chilled or left at room temp? I would guess chilled, but that is just a guess.
Anyone tested this before?
Thanks

I am also very curious about this. I would assume different hops 1) have different (aroma) shelf lifes, and 2) would react different to different temps. But that is based on absolutely nothing, just an assumption.

Interesting thought. Without getting too technical, hops are loosely based on aroma or bittering. I am more interested in aroma hops, but any info someone can give would be appreciated.

As a wild guess, I'd think it lasts better cold. It can't escape the bottle, so it must be breaking down or combining with something. Those reactions could be slower in cold. Your hops last better cold, your beer should too.

Hop aroma and flavor have limited shelf lifes, but cold temperatures slow down the fading. Id say an IPA starts losing aroma noticeably after a month ad a half, and declines from there. Not to say it wont be great at 3 months, just past its prime. Chilling them after they fully carb will definitely keep them fresh longer.
