Hey guys,

I have a German Pils recipe that I'm very pleased w/, but would like to recipe the hops w/ an American variety just to call it an "American Pils". Any recommendations?

:mug:

Mt Hood?

I've used it in Denny Conn's Wry IPA and it was great.

That's my two cents, anyway!

Edit- a couple of others I thought of! Crystal hops and liberty varieties are very similar and very "hallertauer" ish.

As Yooper said, Mt Hood is a good choice. Crystal and Liberty are American hops with Hallertau in the lineage crossed with other hops such as Casade, Santiam has both Hallertau and Tettnang lineage, and Sterling is related to Saaz. Any of those are good American choices for a Pils
