I was brewing an IPA yesterday and noticed a lot of white stringy chunks swirling around the kettle. They were even sticking to the spoon when I dipped it in.

After being in the fermentor for a few hours, I saw this:

The recipe does call or 12oz of sugar, so I think it could just be that. I'm not worried about it, but I wondered if anyone else has seen something like this.
 
I have the same thing in a Texas Bock I'm brewing right now. It's my first lager, so I assumed it was something with the lager yeast. But protein break makes sense, this beer is also the first one I've used Whirlfloc in.
 
@misterclean That's it! This was the first time I've used a Whirlfloc too. That must be it. Surprised more people didn't immediately identify it.
