1 gallon experiment. 6 Lipton teabags at flameout and let cool/steep with lid on kettle until cool enough to transfer to 1 gallon fermenter and pitch.

Thoughts?

Sure, why not?

Use only 1/5 to 1/10 of the yeast, not the whole package.
Is this a test batch? 1 gallon is nothing.
