I ordered a Blichmann Cornical fermenter last week primarily to use as a brite/conditioning tank. I'd also like to be able to ferment Kviek beers with it so I'm planning to outfit it with a thermowell, heater, and jacket. Looking around at Silicone heating pads most seem like what I'm finding gets really hot. I know the 12V pads SS Brewtech usess draw very close to 8A so ~90W but have never even felt how warm they get other than through the neoprene jacket but I do know they will heat a 5 gallon Chronical to the upper 90's no problem. Before I disassemble everything to test anyone know what temps the pads used by SS Brewtech and Spike run at?
