So with some help from other posters here and inspiration from this thread:

I think I finally have all of the parts I need to create a hand pump, beer line cleaner that attaches directly to an American sankey coupler for cleaning kegerator lines with commercial kegs. I figured I would share my experience.

Some parts are in the mail but here are the parts that I think I'm going to need and have ordered (in the order of assembly):

I couldn't find anything to take me from 3/8" FIP to a 3/16" hose barb. So I bought some 3/8" hose and a reducing adapter to connect the two. When all the parts come in I will take some pictures and show the finished product and report on how it works. Can someone tell me how to add pictures from a file as opposed to from a link?

Hey did you ever get this to work? I am about to order all the parts. Very noobish with my kegerator here. It will be my first cleaning after refurbishing it and putting 4 sixtels through it!!

This seems like over engineering to me. Somebody else pulled this off with some PVC parts and an old spear. Can't link from my phone but search my participated threads. ImageUploadedByHome Brew1392000311.216826.jpg

Hey, sorry for the delay in replying. Right after posting this my parents moved in due to evacuation from the flooding we had in Colorado and then shortly after my wife had our first child.

So posting to homebrewtalk was the furthest thing from my mind. Yes, it did work. It leaked at first and I made some adjustments to get it to stop leaking but it works great now. I've attached some pictures, but will have to come back later and explain how I fixed the leak and any details on the pictures.

Again sorry for the delay.

After looking through the photos the additional things I should add are the following:

1) I used teflon tape AND pipe dope on the connection to the hand pump, because this is where I had leaking. This in combo with item 2 has stopped the leaking.

2) Per the link in my initial post, I flipped the white washer from the hand pump around so that I can still use the trigger on the hand pump if I desire. I think this helped my leaking in addition to the teflon and pipe dope, but given that I did them simultaneously, I can't tell you which specifically solved the problem.

3) Where the sankey adapter meets the hose barb connection (to the 3/8" line) I used teflon tape.

Hope it works out for anyone who tries it and let me know if you have questions. I'll try not to take 5 months to reply.
