I've used one of these for three extract brews so far (just move to full boils) and I love it. Make sure to build an oxidation layer on it first, but other than that, it's a great pot!

There are a lot of myths surrounding aluminum pots and brewing. Here is a great rundown:

If you want to save some money, then buy aluminum. It is a great conductor of heat and will be useful for brewing your beers. It will eventually oxidize and lose its clean appearance and may not hold up as well as stainless steel.

If you are new to brewing and aren't sure if you are wanting to stick with it for the long haul as a hobby then buy the pot. It looks like a good deal. You can always use it for frying a turkey or for low country boils, crabs etc. if you decide brewing isn't your thing.

If brewing becomes a passion for you, then you may look into investing a bit more money for a stainless steel pot.
