Yeast left out

Long story short: My car was towed and I was away over the weekend. Discovered that I had left some White Labs California Ale yeast in the car, it got hot. Is it dead? Should I not use it now?

Try making a starter with it first to see if its viable. You could pull off about 1/2L of the wort into a sanitized glass container (mason jar, ciderjug, flask) add the yeast and swirl it occasionally. Other option would be to pitch some US05.
