Yesterday, I took the kayak out in the marsh and caught a couple of redfish and cleaned them, grilled them, and ate them with my simcoe IPA while the grain for my sorachi saison was mashing. Was feeling pretty self sufficient, eating what I caught and drinking what I brewed while brewing more. Today we are smoking some pork and and grilling. Got some simcoe IPA on ice and trying out my new hefeweizen for first time today! Great weekend!

I bottled my Maori IPA yesterday, mashed in on my Berlin Wheat today @ 1:24pm. just got the sparge water going a few minutes ago. The barley crusher sure sped things up a lot, besides finally getting a good crush. We''ll be bbqing steaks tomorrow & drinking my hybrid lagers.

Some long runs, yard/ house work today, smokin a butt with some veggies tomorrow, and definitely going to my honey hole for some fishing. Redfish you say? What're u using? I've been using dead shrimp and squid. Caught a throw back black tip shark and a wicked sunburn but that's about it, oh and a nice size perch the week before. They say the dolphins are running strong (mahi mahi)

good for you! I've been mostly doing yard work and cleaning gutters, you know, fun stuff. Bottled a batch in the morning, fixing to brew tomorrow around chores. prepping for a uncoming party so cleaning and clearing over the long weekend.

No plans, just brewing..this time SWMBO wanted to participate

Yesterday I went down to Detroit's 170 year old outdoor farmer's market and picked up a case of pickling cukes (for IPA pickles) some 1 day old asparagus and and an expensive bag of morel mushrooms, then MustangJ came over and finally found the leak in my keezer. Then I pretty much just cooked all day, drank beer and watched the Detroit Red Wings get spanked by Chicago.

Did church today, then came back and fired up my ghetto sous vide to bring some frozen pork belly confit back to serving. I'm taking it over to a party in a bit. There's a group of us who re-connected from out college radio station in the 80's who get together often, and one of our gang came into town for a wedding, so that warranted an informal party. I'm bringing over the pork belly confit, some IPA pickles and a growler of IPA...and hoping to seduce my old college fiance..... ;)

I was hoping some of the local HBTers would throw together a group brew for tomorrow, but it doesn't seem like anyone's in town, so I guess I'm going to make a ton of IPA pickles and asparagus, and maybe do a stovetop brew of the pomegranate with I planned to brew.

Interesting on several levels Revvy, interesting.

Well, for me, a 3 day weekend of bottling brewin & bbqin is def a successful holiday weekend. I can smell the boil all the way in the mancave. The beer will be in here in a while to do it's trick.:rockin:

Yeah. Red drum. Caught them in hopedale lagoon about 30-40 mins south of new Orleans. It's brackish water. This was an impromptu trip, so I was just using Gulp soft plastic shrimp lures, just popping under cork right off the point of the marsh. I caught a mean sunburn too.

Well,i finally got that PM Berlin Wheat in the fermenter With Wyeast 3056. OG 1.050 says my efficiency with the new grain mill was damn good! :ban::mug::ban: Sore & tired at my age,but it's still a good kinda tired.
As a reward for a job well done,I went & not only got some vodka (rhumatiz at my age!),but some Oskar Blue's Dale's Pale Ale. That wheat beer looks like I'll have the color nailed as well! :ban:

Smoked some tri tip, asparagus and corn on the cob. Tomorrow we're going to take the new used jeep put for a quick run.

Cheers.

It's been about 12 years since I did any sort of radio work. Forgot how much fun it is to do.

Went to a car show at a local casino lost $80.00 bucks gambling (well my swsbo did) and brewing my second attempt at Centennial Blonde tomorrow.
