How can I distinguish between chinook and sterling hop plants? Come harvest time I can do a three-way with known hops, but I'm curious if there's a way to positively ID them from leaves alone. Im almost positive that the hop to the east was the sterling, but I can't be sure.

Mike.

Chinook grow longish cones, compared to my other strains (Cascade, Centennial and Fuggles). The Centennial and Fuggles grow rounded cones, the Cascades more elongated than round, but not as long as the Chinook. Also, Chinook tends to be pretty intensely aromatic, which may help you differentiate...

Cheers!
