I just mashed my first all grain in a picnic cooler/toilet hose set up. According to Brewers Friend calculations, I hit just under 77% efficiency for a simple pale ale grain bill. Is that calculator accurate?
I'm pretty psyched if it is!

no reason why it wouldn't be possible

if you want confirmation, post your grain bill then your volumes and gravities

If you had reliable measurements, then the efficiency calc should be reliable too. Nice work!

The only problem is I overshot my OG. I was looking for 1.052 and hit 1.060!

edit - I should add that I mashed out and batch sparged.

It sure is possible. I just did my 1st all grain, and got an eff. of 86%. But I've got the gap setting on my Monster mill at .029"....which is really pushing the envelope. or from what I've read anyway.
So yes, good job!:mug:
