So i have some WLP009. debating what to use it on. I'm getting ready to brew a pale ale (with simcoe and sorachi ace) and an imperial red ale (with galaxy and falconers fligth 7Cs).

anyone have any experience with it? :mug:

I've got a vial in the fridge ready to go. I'm thinking a pale ale as well just to get a feel for it. I'll post the recipe when I brew it.

It is a nice yeast. Fermented low with a good yeast pitch, it will produce a very clean beer with light fruity esters and it has good attenuation/flocculation. In malty beers it does show some characteristic 'bready' flavors that Coopers beers seem to have. I probably wouldn't use this yeast for a highly hopped APA or IPA, as it does favor maltier beers.

Makes a wonderful American wheat/sparking ale/cream ale.
