Here is a recipe i have for an ESB Amber not sure about hop additions.
11lb German Pale Ale
2lb German Munich Light
1/2Lb Crystl 70L
1/4 Lb Aromatic

Bittering hops columbus 13.9 AA 60 min
Finishing hops Fuggles 3.9 AA 15 min
Finishing hops kent Goldings 4.5 AA 2 min

Yeast white labs wpl 001

Mash 154 for one hour then fly sparge and boil 90 min

So I went to the hbs and got the ingredients the AA on the hops was columbus 19.4, fuggles 5.6 and kent Goldings was 4.3.
so after plugging the info into the brewing software I use (Brewers Friend) I get 78 Ibu's if using 1 oune of each hop. if i put all the hops at .25 ounce I Get 19 Ibu's

My goal is to just know that the hop is there I dont want it in your face so to speak. so my question is. Is .25 of an ounce enough hops. will i even know that I put hops in the brew? I dont mind trial and era but I still want to have a good beer at the end of the day.
Thanks in advance Greg...

This recipe appears to be written using AA units. So if you want to follow the recipe you would do:

13.9/19.4 = .72 oz columbus at 60
3.9/5.6 = .7 oz Fuggles at 15
the goldings is close enough that at 2 min I'd just throw in your 1 oz

I didn't plug in the numbers to get IBU's but an ESB should be in the 30-50+ range per BJCP specs and eyeballing it that's probably where the recipe gets you.
